ICMA Seeks Local Government and Urban Management Advisors

 

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is a leading non-profit professional association representing over 8,500 local government practitioners and urban management experts. ICMA's mission is to enhance the quality of local government and to support and assist local government officials worldwide. Towards this end, ICMA has established more than ten overseas offices in the last ten years, funded by various international donor organizations, to promote professional and efficient public management locally, regionally, and nationally. ICMA currently seeks to expand its programs in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Russia, and the Newly Independent States (NIS) and seeks mid to senior level short term consultants and long term overseas advisors with experience in at least two of the following areas:

Additional minimum requirements include: previous experience living and working in developing countries, preferably for a US Government Agency; and 7-10 years experience in a local/regional government profession. Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior international experience in the CEE/NIS region, particularly Armenia, Bosnia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Macedonia.
