On October 31, 1998 there will be a fundraising concert performed by artists from around the Newly Independent States. These artists (popular musicians, movie and theatre stars) will come from all different areas of entertainment. The Grand Hall of the State Theater of Opera and Balet in Kharkov, Ukraine will welcome everybody."Help a Child" is the slogan representing this charitable fundraiser which was first held in April of 1997. All money raised from the concert will be used to aid in the renovations of the first shelter in Kharkov for homeless children. This shelter is a project of the Kharkov Municipal Charitable Society" Syntez".
The following organizations have been working together to realize this vital project:
- Kharkov Municipal Charitable Association "Syntez";
- Association of Russian Immigrants from Pennsylvania, USA;
- Brenda Donchuk, former Peace Corps USA volunteer and Oleg Donchuk, volunteer of Syntez;
- Dove's Mission, Philadelphia, PA, USA;
- Kharkov State Theater of Opera and Ballet.
Please help these efforts and contact Syntez with any offers of assistance (in-kind or monetary) or with any suggestions on how they might make this important project successful. Please write before August 31, 1998.
