Title: FSAFLEX Alumni Program Assistant (full-time, temporary)

Reports to: FSAFLEX Alumni Coordinator, American Councils for International Education, MoscowAmerican Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is an American non-profit organization that administers the Freedom Support Act Future Leaders Exchange (FSAFLEX), an exchange program for high school students from the NIS sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US State Department. Participants of the program live in American host families and study in US high schools for one academic year. The FSAFLEX Alumni Office works with these students when they return to their home countries, organizing volunteer, career development, and democracy-building activities. As of this summer, there will be approximately 7,700 alumni in the NIS.
The FSAFLEX Alumni Office coordinates, reports on and supports FSAFLEX alumni activities throughout the NIS. It is responsible for ensuring that each hub city submits an annual activity plan that conforms to the goals of the program and that those activities are carried out. These activities are reported to ECA on a monthly basis. In order to maintain the alumni network, the office publishes an alumni magazine, The Bradley Herald, on a quarterly basis and updates its database on an annual basis. The Alumni Office also helps Moscow alumni organize their activities.

- To maintain the alumni database and oversee the annual update done by American Councils branch offices.
- To assist the Alumni Coordinator with new programming ideas for alumni activities.
- To manage the quarterly distribution of The Bradley Herald, the FSAFLEX alumni newsletter.
- To organize at least one Moscow alumni activity every quarter of the year. To actively cultivate a network of professional contacts that can be tapped for alumni activities.
- To moderate an electronic listserve.
- To prepare materials and speak at conferences for American Councils staff or alumni.

- Familiarity with and possessing contacts in Moscow's NGO community (desirable).
- Previous experience working with high school or college students (desirable).
- Good knowledge of English, fluency desirable.
- Working familiarity with computers. Knowledge of Paradox desirable.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
