Director Grant Programs

 

Under the supervision of the Vice President for Grant Programs, the Director manages the DC Grant Program office and serves as the Eurasia Foundation's key official in charge of partnership grant programs. Together with the Vice President, Grant Programs, he/she oversees the identification, dissemination and application of relevant grant program findings that will advance the economic and democratic development of the Newly Independent States (NIS). The Director serves as an in-house resource to field offices on Foundation grant-making procedures and best practices.

Responsibilities include managing the overall work of the Foundation's DC grant program office in all of the following areas: Personnel and Administration, Accounting, Partnership Grant Programs, Fundraising and Outreach. The ideal candidate will also provide training and guidance in program matters to field-based staff; review and provide guidance for the development of competitions, special programs, and regional strategies; share information on innovative grantmaking techniques and models with field-based staff to improve the quality of Foundation grant programs; and provide reports on Foundation-wide grantmaking activities to the Board, donors, and external audiences.

Qualifications: Educational attainment and experience should total at least 10-15 years. Advanced education at least to the level of a master's degree is required in a relevant field such as public policy, economics, or business management. Professional experience in both governmental and private sectors is desirable. Proven abilities to manage teams in a cross-cultural setting are essential. Demonstrated ability to apply lessons of experience to the development of policies in the former Soviet Union is highly desirable, as is previous field experience in the region.

Other: Fluency in written and spoken English and a high degree of proficiency in Russian is required. Strong computer skills are required. Previous experience in program or project management is highly desirable.
