Eurasia Foundation--Director of Government Relations

 

The Eurasia Foundation, an international non-profit organization supporting political, economic and communications development in the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union, is seeking a Director of Government Relations to work in its Washington, DC office.

Under the supervision of the Vice President for Foundation Projects and Development, the Director of Government Relations is responsible for developing and coordinating outreach activities for the Foundation with the U.S. and foreign governments. A major responsibility is working as liaison with the Department of State, USAID, Congress, and other government agencies to ensure that the Foundation's programs obtain the political and material support necessary to achieve its mission.

Candidate should possess a master's degree, preferably in the area of area studies or public policy. Expertise in a government liaison role is required, as is recent senior-level management experience in a comparable organization or government agency.

Working experience in or with the former Soviet Union is highly desirable. Fluency in English is required. Journalistic writing ability and a high level of competence in computer skills is preferred. Competency in Russian language is desired.
