SYNOPSIS: This is a program of support for Ukrainian students pursuing Ph.D.s in economics abroad who would like to return to Ukraine to conduct dissertation or postdoctoral research. Applicants must have completed at least one year of the advanced degree program at a foreign institution, and must be citizens of Ukraine.
The proposed research may be for an early stage of work-choosing a topic, investigating sources, locating data, etc.-or for work on an already defined project accepted by the student's dissertation adviser or committee. Proposals for preparing a completed dissertation for publication will also be considered.

RESTRICTIONS: Eligible applicants are Ukrainian citizens specializing in economics.

The research fellowship may be given for a period of up to six months. Fellows are expected to spend most of their time in residence in Kyiv, and will be expected to present the results of their research to the students and faculty of the program.
TO APPLY: Send a letter describing in detail the research program you wish to carry out and the planned period of stay in Ukraine. Please provide specific information about what you plan to accomplish while in residence in Kyiv, including your research topic, how the fellowship fits into the timetable for completion of your dissertation, the sources and persons you wish to consult, and so forth. Applicants should also provide a brief budget listing anticipated incidental research expenses. Please also describe your status in your Ph.D. studies, and include a transcript, a statement concerning your visa status abroad, and a letter from your department or school certifying that you are a student in good standing in the program.
