Conference on Environment: St. Petersburg, Russia

 

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the International Ecological Congress "Advances in Ecology and Environmental Safety" I have the pleasure to invite you to visit St. Petersburg and participate in the work of the Congress. It will take place on June 14-16, 2000, as an event of the IV St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

As you probably know, annual All-Russian theoretical and applied science conference with international participation has been held in Russia since 1996. Since this year this would become an International Ecological Congress with representative participation of scientists, experts, managers, etc. from Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, CIS, USA and other countries and regions.

The Congress is aimed to provide wide opportunities to establish and develop international contacts, discuss new, topical and original problems. Below you can find some preliminary information about the Congress organisation and Programme. All additional information and later updates can be found at http://www.newecol.spb.ru/ as soon as it becomes available.

The registration form can be filled at the WWW-site or sent to you on the request from Organizing Committee (see the address at the end of the message).

Programme

The Congress programme will include keynote addresses and invited and contributed papers in the following areas:

Exhibition

Companies are invited to take part in the exhibition, presenting products, projects, instrumentation or software relating to ecology and environmental safety. The cost of one exposition site is 300 USD. This includes space for one table, electric cables and place for one representative of the participating company. Besides this payment covers evening reception on the first day of the Congress. Company representatives have the opportunity to participate in the work of Congress panel and section meetings.

On a special request and for an additional payment, the Organizing Committee can help in distribution, demonstration, and promotion of your products. You may negotiate the terms of publishing your advertising material within the cover or inside of the Congress Proceedings.

Social Programme

St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The Organizing committee will run special excursions, for the Congress participants, allowing them to see as many world-renowned masterpieces of Art and Architecture as possible. Participants may visit the Hermitage with its numerous art treasures, the many marvellous palaces, cathedrals and parks or go to the theatre, ballet, opera, or symphony concerts, etc. You will get unforgettable impressions of the city in the golden twilight of the "White Nights".

Lodging

Participants will be accommodated in a *** - **** hotel. Single rooms are available at 75 - 110 USD per night. Double rooms are available at 90 - 125 USD per night. These rooms are available at the same rates for a limited time before and after the Congress dates. At your hotel you have an option to purchase three meals a day for the four-day period for an additional sum of 120 USD Airport transfers to and from the hotel will be provided. This hotel is conveniently located. All meetings will be held in the halls of the hotel.

Publications

All manuscripts received in time and accepted for presentation will be published in the Proceedings.

Congress Proceedings will contain abstracts of reports, session presentations, and plenary lectures.

Further Information

The Congress registration fee is 550 USD for participants and 150 USD for accompanying persons. The registration fee includes the books of proceedings, evening reception, transport expenses and cultural events including a visit to the Hermitage. Additional cultural events will be offered to participants and accompanying persons before and after the Congress. Registration fee might be paid at the Congress.
