AHALAR Center is organizing its environmental summer camp "Pure Land" and invites all who are interested to participate. Please pass along this information to your friends, colleagues and whoever you think might be interested!!
WHERE?:
The camp, surrounded by a protected woodland area and several nearby lakes, is situated on the picturesque banks of Desna river. It is located near Chrenigov, a 1300 year old town in north-western Ukraine.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The camp's program is based on Deep Ecology training and a unique THREE-A-Methodology developed by AHALAR Center. During the two week session you will have a chance to:
The program also includes a trip to the St. Anthony caves, where many generations of monks lived and practiced, as well as trips to other pearls in the Chernigov region, including unique churches and cathedrals. Finally, you will have the chance to visit the Chernobyl nuclear power plant to see the devastating effects of "technological development" on nature and humans.
A typical day at "Pure Land":

Volunteers from the American Peace Corps working in Ukraine will also be involved in the camp.
FOOD:
Everyone will have a chance to participate in cooking over an open flame and to master the secrets of traditional Ukrainian cooking.
LIVING ACCOMMODATIONS:
Participants generally live in one big tent; however, you are welcome to bring own tent and sleeping bag.
WHAT TO BRING?:
You will need simple clothing for life in nature. Clothing should be comfortable and suitable for physical exercise such as trips to the forest. Don't forget to bring a bathing suit!

July 3 - July 16
GETTING TO THE CAMP:
You should be in Kiev by July 3. There organizers will meet you at 12 noon on July 3 at the central bus station (Moscow square) and you will be accompanied directly to the camp. If the time of your arrival does not coincide with this date, please get in touch with us!
COST OF THE CAMP:
The cost for participation is $399. This covers all expenses such as tuition, living accommodations, food and trips.
DEADLINE:
