Deb and Nate Lipsen visit with Vlad Korsak (center), Director of an In-vitro Fertilization Clinic in St. Petersburg. Vlad's family was our host family for dinner on our first trip to Russia. Since that pleasant evening, we have kept in touch with Vlad, his wife Galina, and their daughter Larissa. Vlad and Galina continue to struggle with the new Russia and their attempts to give their daughter a better life. they are both professionally employed and have trouble making ends meet and sending Larissa to medical school. |
| We drove from St. Petersburg to Helsinki, Finland on our way back to the U.S. Here, Deb and Nate pose at an impressive statue in Helsinki. The city is clean, modern, and busy. It is nice for walking and sightseeing, and most of the group took advantage of the beautiful city in the morning, before we left for the airport and the trip home. |  |
