Two theaters are located in Penza: the Regional Dramatic Theater named after A.V. Lynacharsky, and the "Little Eagle" puppet show. These theaters have their own buildings. There are also independent actor companies which perform on rented stages. The Penza State Circus is one of the oldest in the country.
